Well, when the government turns off your internet, you can still organize and communicate using bitchat, and whitenoise. Using centralized platforms only guarantees that you'll be beholden to an authority outside of your control, and ensures that any mitigation you attempt will always be reactionary, instead of proactive... but features and convenience... got it.
