Man, I love this idea. I have been a Pocket user for years, and often use the text-to-audio feature because the ‘reading’ quality has been good enough, and it is truly useful for catching up with reading while driving, doing chores, walking the dog, whatever. Now with NOSTR, we can have swarmed & zapped highlights, discussions, curations, and Lord knows what else—all within a complex dance of flowing & flowering sats. It will be glorious and spectacular! Imagine this, but also for MUSIC! @Wavlake, you paying attention?

Loved this piece. Whilst the concept is understood, the technical "how to" is currently out of my depth. As a long form reader (and writer to some degree) myself, I look forward to returning to the era where we learn to engage our minds fully in a book or piece of writing. A question regarding your claim: “While today’s information jungle increasingly presents itself in the form of (short) videos and (long-form) audio, I believe that we will see a renaissance of the written word, especially if we manage to move away from an economy built around attention, towards an economy built upon value and insight.” The economy built around value and insight could also be pushed via video and audio. When AI easily transforms all audio, video sound and text in your mother tongue why would text be the preferred medium for consumption? If we look at mass consumption of information we have always had text, video and sound. Most people on our planet mass consume video with sound these days. And sound when they need to do something repetitive that needs their video focus. Reading takes effort, you need to learn how to read before you can consume. In the future I would expect more and more people to consume video and/or sound, not text. Just see the transition from picture to video of most large platforms. Why would you expect it to shift towards the medium which costs most energy for the consumer? Reading simply costs more energy and the masses prefer to watch the news vs reading it… There might be a renaissance for the few, most likely not the many.
