I feel dumb asking this .. but I’ve wasted enough time on it already.
I’m wanting to use some v4v music in my podcast to provide a change of pace, some exposure to the musicians and to set up some splits to support them.
But all I see is streaming stuff like lnbeats. How can I use that in my podcast? Right now I’m just recording wav files of the hosts and importing into reaper. I tried capturing the band audio from lnbeats/chrome using black hole and redirecting into reaper. It technically worked but even after turning the input volume way down it was still clipping out. Not good at all..
So you pros out there using music in your setup.. how ????
Thanks !! #v4v #podcast

I have not used the split kit yet but I intend to integrate it so the musicians get the proper support. As for host I use pod home. Love it. I didn’t think about getting the mp3 out of the rss. That would do the trick for sure.

If yes, are you trying to stream it live? What OS are you using?
You can just download the music and drag it in the daw. You don't have to DAC to ADC it. At least for all the music that's self hosted, you can find the links in the rss feeds by searching the podcast index. You can always also grab the media from the chrome inspector as well, you just might have to splice it back together.

One immediate solution is downloading all the files and throwing them into a multirack recording. Have monitor on for the music channel, then arm a second channel to record your voice as you listen? You can use the split kit to download all your selected tracks at once as a zip if you're concerned about hunting down every song to download.

Does this problem still persist when you lower the overall desktop audio of your computer?
It did. For now I have solved the problem. I can pull the mp3 out of the rss feed - stick it into Reaper and deal with it like any other track in my DAW. I have to make some other adjustments then I can use the split tool in Pod home to add splits for the music. Once I try and go live down the road .. that’s a lot more issues. Not ready for that.. Thanks for the help!
