anyone who wants to pollute bitcoin with programmability is an enemy of bitcoin's purpose - eliminating communist central banking. smart contracts on blockchains are a stupid idea. there's plenty of fast federated and RAFT/Paxos based programmable database engines. pushing this functionality onto a public blockchain is retarded. blockchains are slow by design, that's a feature, not a bug. smart contracts are for fast, non-adversarial distributed database systems. not byzantine fault tolerant ones. the best one that exists for that purpose is cosmos, and the tendermint protocol has a structural limitation of no more than 100 validators, and requires complex voting protocols to govern them. bitcoin can't do this *and* do the global settlement ledger at the same time. not only that, it doesn't need to. ethereum, solana, polkadot, cosmos, already do this just fine. the only reason that makes sense why they are trying to put smart contracts on bitcoin is to damage bitcoin. the end. lopp, back, and all the rest, are enemies of bitcoin.
