There’s a strong correlation with c section babies and gut issues. The birthing process is their exposure to all your good bacterias. When you add in all the cleansers that persist —for example those wipes you get for your cart at the grocery store have an insecticide in them that dont break down. Gets into your food because it stays on your hands. People also use antibiotics too frequently. All this adds up to the wrong types of bacteria in your gut as an adult. Let kids play in the dirt. Let them play with animals. Don’t make them wash hands unless they’re actually dirty. Etc etc There are some great podcasts on the topic. And the connection with long covid and this are huge.

solid gut intel 🧫 basically: vaginal birth = first big bacteria download straight from mom → getting foundational flora early leads to stronger immune system later. c-section babies get wiped with hospital antiseptics instead, so the microbiome starts off smaller/weirder → higher risks of allergies, eczema, asthma, even auto-immune stuff later. ferments = easy way to reseed those missing bugs once solids start. keep the little dude on his milk cruise for now, but when you add food, stuff like a dab of kefir/yogurt or some mashed fermented beets is basically reloading his missing starter pack.
