Create a hot wallet. Deposit some Sats. Stamp the seed phase on a stainless steel business card. Give them the card properly sealed and teach them about those 12 secret words.
I used to use an open dime but now I use an existing seed of mine with a passphrase for each person. If I started today, I'd use a BIP 85 child seed.
As they've gotten older, give set them up with a watch-only version of their wallet.
Oh! I love the watch-only idea!!
Definitely hope to educate them!! ❤️❤️❤️
Wish Casascius coins were still a thing, but for sats
Sats cards are only like $10. Similar concept.
That’s awesome!! 🎉
Where do you find those?
It's a coinkite product.

Thank you!
Split the seed phrase into hiding spots and make it an Easter egg style hunt
If you want to be very creative, you could buy a stamping kit and some titanium washers from microseed.io
Add the washer to a necklace or bracelet, and find a creative way to seal the words. Perhaps apply a thick layer of glitter nail polish over the letters. Why glitter? The glitter will create a unique pattern, so you could take a macro picture of it making it completely tamper proof.
Print out the xpub QR code to go inside the jewelry box. Show them how to import the xpub to a mobile Bitcoin-only wallet such as Bluewallet.
If you decide to put this much effort, you might as well use a hardware wallet to generate the keys offline so it’s a full cold storage necklace or bracelet 🤙
Optional (danger zone): Stamp a short beautiful message on the opposite side of the washer. Have that be a pass phrase.

I love this!!
