No reason to be derisive, imo. Emergent systems are genuinely hard to wrap your head around if you haven’t explored them in depth. I mean how do we “value” what a chair is worth? The idea that there’s literally no such thing as a nominal measure of value is difficult to grasp when you think of everything in “prices.” It isn’t immediately obvious that this is a perfectly circular/relative logic, it has the *appearance* of being a simple nominal unit.

Yeah, I'm not afraid to ask stupid questions, and I'm not afraid to admit that I have gaps in my knowledge and ignorance. Despite your comment here which isn't cool at all, I benefitted from all the replies on this post, even yours.
