- set up a node, open channels, liquidity etc
- set up an LNURL server, open ports on your machine etc
- you also need a domain and you need to get an SSL cert
- you can receive zaps now... as long as you're online

I did the first step with Alby Hub. Can I run a cashu mint on the LND backend?
I’ve lost millions of sats running lightning nodes. Mostly my fault, but not always and I don’t recommend it to newbs anymore.
Agreed. Then risk loosing money cause you dont know what your doing.
using cashu fixes a lot of these, but adds it's own layer of complexity. probably less complexity, but more risk.
Sounds familiar.
I think we should still never give up on this, it still feels like magic that this works - even with some headaches - in a self soveirgn way.
Just give people options. PS. I love ecash
Feel you pain BUT I AM NEVER QUITTING
This👆
risk is solvable, education on this scale is not
Same, but I don’t want someone else to experience that loss based on my recommendation.
fair point.
Yeah run LND/CLN AT YOUR OWN RISK
Does bolt12 get rid of step 2 and step 3?
But once you do it’s fucking easy and every pleb who does it has learned some valueable skills that might come in handy later.
Tbf Alby Hub abstracts a bunch of this complexity
Cashu is also the way forward for V4V streaming. The receiver can batch up the cashu from the senders mint and move it across themselves.
nice exaggeration… fishing for zaps?
Come on my grandma is ready to figure out ssl certs.
What are the incentives for mint runners to keep the mints online?
I always assumed so but would also love to hear the answer 😀
Same here, never again for me
you guys are doing an amazing job. I can just marvel at your work.
it’s not about our work. not at all.
