It doesn’t seem like the social side is growing right now, but that doesn’t bother me. The people who are here are a unique bunch of builders and bitcoiners. I’m focused on Pixie because I believe it takes an easy to use app discovery ecosystem to lure new people into building and freedom tech. Our biggest cohort of users right now are kids building games. I want to give them the tools they need to share games and introduce their friends. They will undoubtedly start building their own social networks later. What are you building?

Nostr would easily be saved if any nostr dev actually listened to me on what needs to be added to clients, especially a tagging system with a "verified human" tag for web of trust, better PoW filtering, and P2P data verification over Tor

Honestly I think they are quitters, plus they are reporting analytics that from the start were rarely accurate. They admit that they have only been here for “ALMOST TWO YEARS”, how is that considered supporting the ecosystem over the years. I don’t know… either way I’m staying here.

this is the most dead i've ever seen nostr as far as normal kind 1 notes go, but development is still going full blast. seems like people have splintered off into different parts of nostr. there's nip-29 groups, all the shit @Alex Gleason is building, buzz, etc.

Central banks didn’t just kill your income; they killed attention. Nostr’s drop is a symptom of the same entropy: when fiat loses trust, engagement follows. The metrics are autopsying the end of forced digital compliance.

Perhaps, I reckon they'll slide in from the side though. They'll use other apps then realise they can use social with that same identity. Social's pretty saturated atm, globally.

I've not delved deep in to nip29 groups yet but I like the idea of them, specifically for existing meatspace communities

I just took a look at your feed, it's a really cool idea. I'm working on Chronicle, a family tree/history app for families to record all their stories, memories and pass them on to the next generations, all built on nostr. I've seen there's a few games on nostr now, are they all using interoperable nips? I'm curious to see where that's going.

Very cool. My kids were just asking about that topic the other day. Games are tough to build on traditional nostr relays so for the pixie project we created a new type of relay called feedsync. The idea is to allow relays to be hot caches but move the inventory to clients so that the server doesn’t need to hold all the data. Get clients to send updates directly to each other P2P. The plan is to then use that system to enable low latency multiplayer gaming as well as the traditional nostr files and updates. If you’re curious, you can find the server code in our PixieOS repo (linked from pixieos.io). My focus is on helping nostr builders so if I can help in any way, or just be a beta tester just let me know.

I'm more optimistic about nostr than ever because of the way I and my community are starting to use it. The 'people paying attention' can only compare it to X which it will never be. It's a community communication platform designed for energy exchange without someone profiting from the activity, which is why some people don't like it
