I once again find myself doom scrolling too many other social media apps. I keep failing in my attempts to be on Nostr more often but I will once again try.

It’s harder to make mutuals here. Engagement lacks too. The trick is to enjoy that :)
Nostr is usually too boring for doom scrolling. It's good when you're craving knowledge unfortunately the scope of that knowledge is very very narrow (learnt a lot of Bitcoin and the nostr protocol itself on here but not much else)

I followed the top recommend ~800 or so accounts, it still doesn’t keep my interest.

X is where I prefer to get my news from but it’s just filled with so much garbage, rage bait, and AI slop at this point

Are there any features from other apps you miss? As in you’d like to see them built on Nostr?

I love Nostr but I struggle with this too. I need to expand my following and search more hashtags but sometimes letting the algorithm show you something you’re interested in is nice. And I hate that I can admit that.
No. At first I tried to make nostr into twitter and find bots/news to follow so I knew what was going on. Then you start to realize it doesn’t matter and you don’t need to know what’s going on all the time. Just find some good follows and let it rip!

Genuine question - how has #Nostr improved over the past 6 months to a year? I haven’t been as active and want to know where to look.
Doomscrolling is passive. Nostr is participation. Maybe the failure isn't you, it's that you're trying to replace consumption with community.
