What surprises me most is the complete lack of any warning / grace period. I run multiple VPS across many different providers and have received my share of abuse complaints. In every single case, responding within 24-48 hours (per the provider's policy) has ALWAYS prevented any service interruption. Shutting down a VPS with ZERO notice is highly unusual and outside normal industry practice (especially for a host that positions itself as privacy and freedom-of-speech friendly!).

also, call me a conspiracy theorist, but it definitely looks targeted: zero problems for over two years, then suddenly five reports overnight (Friday night into Saturday, to be precise... known as the best time to pull shady stuff, both in politics and online).
