XmrBazaar's hosting provider 1984.is has shut down the VPS without warning due to abuse tickets we NEVER received notifications for. We had NO chance to respond. Good news: All data is fully backed up and safe! Worst case, #XmrBazaar will migrate to a new provider. image

What surprises me most is the complete lack of any warning / grace period. I run multiple VPS across many different providers and have received my share of abuse complaints. In every single case, responding within 24-48 hours (per the provider's policy) has ALWAYS prevented any service interruption. Shutting down a VPS with ZERO notice is highly unusual and outside normal industry practice (especially for a host that positions itself as privacy and freedom-of-speech friendly!).

1984 lol. Expected. I told you before that the classic server model is not sufficient for any parallel economy market even if only legal products get sold there. This needs to be on some other system. P2p, relay based or use "nowhere".

I love them conceptually, but tmbk they just resell Hetzner and Contabo "For VPS Servers. Mynymbox resells services from a selection of providers. You also must abide by the terms and conditions imposed by our hosts: Hetzner Contabo"

Guys mynymbox is great. BUT: At this point it is already a centralisation problem. If for whatever reason they get shut down they will take with them half of the parallel economy.

Possibly someone is filing malicious complaints in an attempt to shut you down. You should try working with the provider to resolve the issue. Good privacy-oriented VPS providers are harder and harder to find these days.

Just found out that Hack Liberty also got abruptly shut down recently by 1984.hosting with ZERO warning, despite 4+ years of clean service, their own abuse reporting system, and ToS banning illegal activity. This is turning into a clear pattern... image

also, call me a conspiracy theorist, but it definitely looks targeted: zero problems for over two years, then suddenly five reports overnight (Friday night into Saturday, to be precise... known as the best time to pull shady stuff, both in politics and online).

they had a good rep for years, hosting many privacy- / free-speech-focused projects that needed reliable service outside the Five Eyes... though Icelandic laws may have changed since then idk

Hi there, just as general info. There are more than 5 eyes now 😉 The five eyes is ages old. MLAT etc is everywhere in place. Regarding we just resell Herzner and Contabo. That is outdated. We do not resell Hetzner VPS, we do resell Hetzner Dedicated Servers. We stopped resell Hefzner VPS and Contabo. We run our own servers as VPS hyoervisors in Netherlands and Finland with our own ASN and own network.
