it's not Star Wars actually it's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress the first powerful group who gets robots, water and decent sized solar power on the moon can BOMB THE FUCK out of any place on earth at any time. they just mine a bunch of 10ft basalt boulders, put thrusters on them and if anyone doesnt do what they want, their country is over. this is THE END of the nuclear mutually assured destruction peace that has lasted for 70yrs btw the world order completely changes and everybody knows it. its a race to the moon people.

It's the certainty that drives me nuts. There're so many problems with the media NASA produces. But it's easier to just say, "nah, no ways these are lies" just because they want Star Wars to be true.

there is VAST strategic advantage to controlling large quantities of mass *at the TOP of a gravity well* it's essentially game over, you win until it's cheap for everyone else to move up out of the gravity. then you have moon wars. but @Telluride thinks pretending to develop these systems is a super good and cost effective way at distracting everyone from the Epstein files ๐Ÿ™„
This is so not happening. Even if you assume the premise is true, the scale of time to achieve something like this would be 300 years or more.
why? we have all the necessary tech except for mining robots and the logistical capability to get there and setup. and the robots are coming and they just went there and back. so, I'd say 30 yrs conservatively. maybe 50 to have a sweet mass driver that can reliably fire 5m rocks every hours. there's very little tech we dont have, it's just the engineering and organization.
without the martian stealth tech the belters had an advantage since they were guerrillas in the asteroid belt, somebody building this infrastructure on this side of the moon would be obvious to anyone with a telescope. but if you built it fast enough, there isn't anything they could do.
You are assuming a single focused societal/civilizational objective. That does not happen. If designing a new airplane takes decades, this one can only be measured in centuries.

I wonder how many space force nerds are actively trying to make this a reality
anybody can respond to questions with more questions and change the subject. find a official source that claims your stupid video is real footage from the moon or GTFO
its just a conversation because people doubt there's incentive to develop lunar tech. i do think its likely the only reason spaceX exists is because we need a way to grapple with Chinese shenanigans in orbit. this is the natural extension
