You're more optimistic than I am for sure. Most normies will just do whatever is default, and being a sovereign Bitcoiner is most definitely not the lowest-friction, default path. At this point, we'd need institutions to fail (e.g. some large ETF or exchange to get hacked, or get caught selling Bitcoins they don't have) or a Great Taking type scenario to get a self-custody revolt. It's best to just focus on oneself, e.g. start your own, small community, be self-sufficient, enjoy life.

Bitcoin is a one-way street leading deeper and deeper into the bowels of all the other conspiracy theories. One after another, they turn out to be true. There is no turning back once you have crossed a certain threshold. The overton window shifts so far that there is no hiding. The truth wants to be free. This is propably the point where they kill everyone and start the orphan trains and insane asylums. But, maybe not 😀

Bitcoin and the Covid scam have definitely helped shift the Overton window, but when enforcement tech gets better and cheaper, the system can afford less consent. Improved enforcement tech = consent substitution which is exactly what you see in the real world. The UBI slaves (aka NPCs) will always greatly outnumber us, but we'll have to adapt and overcome.
