I agree with npub1j6jh3a44q3jxmc2ph2gta3t9r9j65qwlqcze9zehsksnwfgyay7szpg7fw you have to prove you bring a real interesting value than the social media they ever used. One of this value is the censorship that bring here some users that have been censored. It is nice, but there is also a side effect, it also bring "noise", i mean bot, slakers, hater, ... will come here with the mass usage and it will be very important to have tools to manage that more than a single "mute" button (because you can recreate as much account as you want here). Like this (it is just an example, i am not saying it is true or wrong) : nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzqamkcvk5k8g730e2j6atadp6mxk7z4aaxc7cnwrlkclx79z4tzygqqsg58hrlkaxfym46y3h5p433074l3f36dx3k45en85stuwpcx9vx7grvset9 I think #nostr has the advantage to allow people to mute people they don't like, it is their decision to keep away bad people/talk, not a centralized authority. But it have to be easy. Because for newbies, it will not be interesting to use most of their time to mute people or notes they don't like, if on their old "secure" social media it was done automatically. Mass usage means easy to use, really very easy to use, if you have any effort to do it will mean you will get less new users or lost the ones who have tried nostr but find it too hard to use. Some new user are lost in the noise :-D : nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzqzyyxmxs88lcjp6ydr7nylav7cncfm4nwjgwpggc4w03fjwjv3kvqythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnswf5k6ctv9ehx2ap0qqswawfm9tdanr64a5xlgzzume4kwaa4zshj8jjefezwwv6h97mpf7sanjhd7 And i don't completely agree with the current way to multiply apps to connect to nostr, with different features implemented. Because user will find that complex. I think in future nostr should maintain less app but more NIP supported. Like "common" package code, app could use/include in their code. It would be easy to maintain but also would certify user they can have the same experience on mobile, pc, tablet... and not having to try 10 different apps for their need. Because if a user choose an app that is not supported anymore (for any reason), it will be a pain for him to change to another (not the same UX/relay connection). Nostr have really interesting side but coming with side effect, and it is on theses points that we have to be careful, if we don't want to loose the user that have ever try to come to nostr. To get them come here, they are multiple ways, it is just marketing. But to keep them using it, it is much more complex. I also think improving the way to "pin" good content is very important. There is a lot of noise on nostr and sometimes even for me it is hard to find again an interesting note i've seen some week ago. I think the "reads" in primal is an interesting feature, and a kind of "channels" you see on discord could be fine to categorise notes, or more use of pinned hashtag you like in a menu to classify notes easily. Without that it is very hard to find interesting subject inside the noise. The more it is simple for user to get what they want, the more it will be used. Your note is very interesting and should be pinned, because in some weeksn it will probably be lost in the noise. I also have other #nostrIdea like a way to edit a note "one remplacing the other" when they are 2 notes posted. Because it is annoying to be unable to edit what we have post even a delete/new post feature. It is also a basic feature everywhere else. I am not blaming any app coders but some improvement have to be done on this point too. Thanks you for this note.

And for the marketing part i would do the opposite of other social media. Instead of trying to touch directly mass people. I would use the curiosity of humans. #nostr is also decentralized in his usage, why not use each #nostr user to recommand nostr to new users ? They will just have to get a "welcome package" including : - A very simple process to install nostr for new users (like flashing a qrcode and all step are just done by a step button) - Auto-add the "parent" user that have recommend nostr to this new user. - Ask the new user what he like (politics, nature, art, humour...) to allow him to "pin" content tag he like and get it in his feed. - Why not creating a welcome bot to reply all the same newbies questions... what is a relay, why i can't see my exact number of followers... A bot will give the exact reply more than a website when you have to find the answer yourself. (i didn't find the news but someone was working on it here some week ago). #grownostr #nostridea And if you want some interesting users (for me which is relative) : npub13uunvh7djw9ep54nswkuxlneyee7ehcpc7e53t68krykrdeg6j4qrdpvgs npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s
Another interesting note about #nostr , with some new interesting point of view from @metadavid and @Eric FJ 🪬⚡️ : naddr1qvzqqqr4gupzqsqszje4g6ywawcfczt25mm63pkamey76wskvctvzjcsv9va23mtqq7y67fdge5hyum595mrqt2yv9uhxtt0dck5ummnw3ez6smgv9kxcetwvajhxttpdejz6nmzwdjhyanpw35k7mnn945ng6nhvausmwzhct #thinktankstr #grownostr
