Without "space", the narrative of space aliens, asteroids, a big bang, evolution, and mass atheism wouldn't be possible. Now not only do we have NASA to 'research' space, 'send' people to the moon, and 'protect' us from asteroids, there is also a 'space force' which will protect against 'space aliens' and other threats while they show us laughably bad CGI as some sort of proof. Problem is, they need LOTS of money to keep us safe. Live in fear, so in the back of your mind there is always a small concern about being wiped out just like the 'dinosaurs' were.
