Look for event organizers, those who actually will show the film at a specific location. As I understand it, they will act as those 'producers' and pay in Bitcoin, but might offer other payment methods for their audience.
I remember watching ‘The Fifth Estate’ in 2014. It painted Assange in a rather bad light (not so nice considering the real Assange was still trying to avoid extradition to Sweden and potentially the US at the time).
