I’m in the process to convincing the mrs to homeschool our kid that’s due in January. I reckon I’ll be able to get it over the line just gonna take time. I’m going to need all the ammo I can find to convince her.

Congrats on becoming a father! Yeah, going against the norm is tough. In my area there are quite a few alternative options to "the system": Nature schools, home school groups, self led schools, etc... which probablly helps find like minded people and community. You're already on the right track though, plus you've got some time to plan.

Yeah exactly. As a teacher in the system myself, I see some kids actually thrive. They genuinely like the structure of school learning. But it's a one size fits all. So many kids struggle. Learning is innate.

As a public high school economics teacher this was excellent to read. The one size fits all "system" of 'education' is deeply flawed. [Most parents need it as day care while they're grinding at work to make fiat ends meet. (Bitcoin fixes this!)] I literally just wrote about this last night...
