Fear and hope sell. But resolve carries the day.
Oddly, my Twitter feed, full of click bait and noise, is often less fear-mongering than my nostr follows.
What the fuck happened to “tick tock, next block?”

I will speak for myself since I am guilty of posting “doomer” content on nostr.
I feel trapped. Like we see all these problems in the world that are invisible to the masses. Sounding the alarm but no one hears the sirens. Or maybe just seeking validation that I am not alone in the way I see the world. That there are other crazy people like me who see the walls closing in on liberty.
Perhaps it’s not productive. Perhaps it is good to vent.
“Tick tock, next block” is great for bitcoin who is fully digital and is not burdened by living in our deteriorating physical society. But for me its not “tick tock, next block” it’s “tick tock, another tax”, “tick tock, digital ID”, “tick tock, we are poisoning more of your food”.
Maybe we have just seen too much and know too much that we have broken in a way. Like a hyperactive immune system. I described to someone the other day that someone else could just be going out for coffee and it’s a pleasant experience but for me it could be a ptsd inducing experience of feeling trapped in an evil system. They see a line to get a coffee but I see the sign that say “card only” paving the way for full financial surveillance, I see the person in front of me wearing a mask still stuck in their covid fear mindset, then I look at my feet to see the faded remains of the “stay six feet apart” stickers. I see the rows of sugary crap they are selling to everyone to poison them and the paper cups lined with plastic that are filling our bodies with micro plastics. And the list goes on… the person feeding big tech scrolling instagram, the wifi beacon pinging everyones phones in the corner, the fact that the coffee itself costs double what it did a few years ago…and on and on.
Perhaps “tick tock, next block” is the mantra we should give ourselves as well. At times I have found peace in a stoic mindset and this mantra speaks to that way of thinking. It is worth being reminded that we should put more positivity out in to the world and to not feed our fears and negativity. That as a nostr community we have the opportunity to focus on the world we want to build not simply the world we want to escape from.
Sounds like Toronto.
Think you need to #GTFO find your like minded tribe and start living the way you think you shouls be.
It is possible and then you will see that it is only a mind trap that creates the illusion of a physical trap.
Have you learned about the hermetic law of rhythm?
Really well said. The more we focus on doomer content from a place of worry and fear, the faster that becomes reality.
It doesn't mean stick your head in the sand, but simply looking at all clown world machinations from a detached and non-triggered or unafraid perspective.
I'm here for the relentless mocking of all the things you mentioned. But the most important thing is maintaining a cohesive and solid mental and inner state. I'm convinced the spiritual realm is where we will ultimately win, bc all of the degredations come down to disconnecting us from God (and people are still waking up to the small voice within leading to truth)
Sending you a giant hug 🫂 I agree to the one who sees and is aware all of that can feel overwhelming. And I can relate very much. Let's remember to take deep breaths! 🌞🫶🏻🌺
Tell us about it!
Very much in line with the conversation I had on a hike around the lake with @Jesse Posner the other day. It's good to have folks around to share the overwhelm and the fear and help keep a balanced perspective and reminder of our true nature and power to create and build the world we want to live in.
