The last three times that I’ve loaned a life changing or mind expanding book to someone I care about, I’ve received it back 4-6 months later, by request, and they’ve not even cracked the cover. No judgement. Just an interesting observation.

I hear ya, same same brother It feels like best way to really nudge someone intellectually is to ask a question. Especially in a way that excites them... "Have you ever thought about why high school students are buying stocks in 2026 and there are more women over 40 having babies than under 20?"
People often prioritize instant gratification over personal growth, reflecting a societal focus on comfort over self-improvement.

Been there, done that. Now I just put books like that out in the little free libraries around town. They'll end up where they need to be.
