Direct Hal Finney quote:
“Actually there is a very good reason for Bitcoin-backed banks to exist, issuing their own digital cash currency, redeemable for bitcoins. Bitcoin itself cannot scale to have every single financial transaction in the world be broadcast to everyone and included in the block chain. There needs to be a secondary level of payment systems which is lighter weight and more efficient. Likewise, the time needed for Bitcoin transactions to finalize will be impractical for medium to large value purchases.
Bitcoin backed banks will solve these problems. They can work like banks did before nationalization of currency. Different banks can have different policies, some more aggressive, some more conservative. Some would be fractional reserve while others may be 100% Bitcoin backed. Interest rates may vary. Cash from some banks may trade at a discount to that from others.
George Selgin has worked out the theory of competitive free banking in detail, and he argues that such a system would be stable, inflation resistant and self-regulating.
I believe this will be the ultimate fate of Bitcoin, to be the "high-powered money" that serves as a reserve currency for banks that issue their own digital cash. Most Bitcoin transactions will occur between banks, to settle net transfers. Bitcoin transactions by private individuals will be as rare as... well, as Bitcoin based purchases are today.”

Perhaps social media and “influencers” have radicalized and polarized us all once again, and maybe people should just calm the fuck down.
Here is a real Satoshi Nakamoto quote:
“Only people trying to create new coins would need to run network nodes. At first, most users would run network nodes, but as the network grows beyond a certain point, it would be left more and more to specialists with server farms of specialized hardware. A server farm would only need to have one node on the network and the rest of the LAN connects with that one node.”

I’ve never once taken out a loan against my Bitcoin, but this is another perfect example of the disconnect between online circles and the original vision of Bitcoin from Hal and also Satoshi himself.

There is an abandoned Belle Époque bank right on our main street in town. My favorite indulgent fantasy is to get that property for my Resiliency Salon.
Huge lobby with Tiffany stained glass skylights can host repair cafes and other events. Plenty of offices for members and we could hopefully have volunteers on site all the time to help the community.
Space upstairs for two apartments, maybe guests and friends of our group can stay for free when they come visit to teach our community.
There's a basement parking garage with a drive through teller set up that we could repurpose for the bitcoiner logistics network to just drop off their Ghee or Oshi butter or whatever and keep on going up or down 81.
Beverly St closes on the weekends and we'd have a front row to all the street music festivals. There's a roof I bet I could put a little garden there and we could listen to the music without the crowd of the street.
In manifesting you can't think about how, just God will take care of it that's what I want. Eventually it could even function as a Bitcoin Bank to help folks circulate Bitcoin in this way Hal is talking about here.
Anon Daddy whale won't you buy me a bank? 🙏🤲🥺🥰
