Forking was always THE means of government as a last resort. That applies to Bitcoin as much as to Monero. Some of us have interpreted the signs of capture a decade early and we will leave Monero again if it should be necessary. For now you want to be hedged with gold, Monero and productive land and ideally a like minded community and some ammo, both to defend against physical as well as digital attacks.
