Yes, this seems more and more likely.
At least they knew of the vulnerability and chose to not do anything about it. Maybe they deliberately introduced it but were too chicken to exploit it.

The Coinkite CTO authored the vulnerability under an alias then merged it into the Coldcard repo as the CTO.

Yes, I agree. I have read yout research. I am just questioning the timeline of the actual rug pull. Does not seem like an obvious point in time to do it now. I think a third party found it and started sweeping wallets.
Now is a good time to kick bitcoin while its down and steal oxygen from BIP-110. Stocks way overpriced. Its a good time for state level actors to demoralise bitcoin.
