You canβt censor people on Nostr. This is about curating your feed and removing dead weight from inactive profiles to reduce relay congestion.

Mute lists are public by default in most clients. At least in Mutable you can choose to use either public or private lists, and you can recover your lists if other clients rug them.
Why? Whats happening? All this clients are censored already ... censorship in gloves. Everyone should just mute everyone so nothing shows to anyone. Lol

But I tend to trust mute lists more. (But not necessarily for the obvious reasons.)
If your relay is suffering performance problems with the tiny number of Nostr users that there are it would seem to indicate a problem with the relay design/implementation rather than a problem with too many "inactive profiles" which in any case aren't creating events if they're inactive.
