I started my journey on Ubuntu. Then around the same time they started adding spyware, elementary OS came around and this was the greatest thing ever. I used it for years, installed it on dozens of computers including for many other people. Then it deteriorated. The lead dev had some kind of mental breakdown and much of the energy splintered into Pop_OS. So that's where I went. It was not as good as the original elementary OS (nothing since then ever was), but it was acceptable for a while. Now they rewrote the whole thing in Rust and it's fucking awful. Nothing works. I've been eyeing Fedora as a replacement, but is Red Hat corporation really our savior? I've looked at Omarchy which also sucks. Everything requires tinkering and nothing has a cohesive vision. Meanwhile the news we get is "Hannah Montana Linux is so back". tl;dr Pop_OS

Yeah Pop is total ass. I actually left it for Fedora because it wasn't working on a System76 laptop they installed it on lol
Fedora KDE right now is by far the best experience I've had in 17 years as a GNU/Linux user.
