My @OpenSats application for @Zapstore was rejected. I don't have any more details. Again very grateful for the grant I received last year which allowed me to build all this so far. It's a tough one to swallow, not gonna lie. I will take a few weeks to think about the future of the project.

Wud be cool if i could set a default zap amount that zaps eveytime i update an app using zapstore that is then split between zapstore and app dev (with some kind of spend restrictions - e.g. specific app rules, max frequency of zapping updates...etc.). Maybe scope for some way to decentralise app funding in a way to align more with app use.
I'm an iOS user but I have a pixel for test stuff and @Zapstore is great. I reflashed the phone a few months back and zapstore made it super easy to redownload most of the Bitcoin, Nostr and Privacy apps I use.

Thanks for taking the risk to give without any guarantee that you will receive something in return. I am greatful for the work that you have done with zap store and I hope that you are rewarded hansomly for your efforts πŸ™ I will use zap.store whenever possible from now on and recommend it to others.

Don't give up, try again and try getting a grant elsewhere too Maybe try the LTS grant so you can have an income for a longer period Mine is 2 years but the first few LTS grants was 1 year
The opensats decision committee has people on it who sell closed source products and people who come on nostr regularly to shill closed source projects. Even one person who has a well documented history of actively harassing open source devs. We need to do better as a community if we really want open source to thrive. Start by starving the beast. Donate anywhere else if you care about open source. Ideally donate to a dev directly. You know what you use. Don't let someone else decide who gets your hard earned sats, give them to people who make software you use directly. It seems like a small thing until you see yet another dev ready to hang it up because of an opensats denial.

I don’t see @ODELL Zapping you or showing support here. Probably was his decision to cut you off.
Thank you. I won't quit. OpenSats is an organization run by humans, I do not think it's corrupted, but they could improve how they communicate.
Like others, I find this project quite valuable and would pay for extras. Also, my plan is to have nip75 Zap Goals integrated with freelance Jobs at least but probably git issues and kanban tasks as well. You will be able to raise money feature by feature and gauge interest of users and raise awareneness. I want to see a future where nostr businesses(including satshoot) can gradually build themselves up choosing from multiple open source tools to monetize and fund themselves. OpenSats has been great to bootstrap things but relying on them in the long run removes us from market incentives I believe. All the best to you and your team! Hope you'll stick around!
Sorry to hear that. I imagine that they are founding competing projects. Otherwise I don't where the heck are we gonna download apps from πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
Unfortunate the opensats rejection reasoning is very limited, from what I can tell there is an automated rejection after 1-3 months, and there are so many applications that it's easy to get lost in the noise, so you have to lobby hard to get your proposal heard.
I definitely answered you yesterday but don't see it now?...damn nostr. Thanks man. I got some feedback and will reapply. πŸ«‚
