You say someone is making money from spammers on Bitcoin. Okay, I know that. But as a node runner I don't want spam on my node / on my hard drive. I switched to Bitcoin Knots. My point is that spam is spam everywhere and its bad except maybe for a few.

That is true but the point it to fight spam with all means possible - technical and economical incentives. The harder and the more expensive is for spammers to spam, the less spam we have. Spam turns Bitcoin into a shitcoin and no sane person wants that.

FIltering out spam is good for the Bitcoin _monetary_ network. Similar to filtering out spam is good for the email network and actyally any other network including Nostr.
