The funny part is that current Nostr really works even worse.
But it´s so ideologically perfect that I feel it cannot fail.
Same vibes that Bitcoin.

"Ideologically perfect"
=
- TBs of hardcore porn
- Probably GBs of CSAM
- TBs of morally grey AI generated content which disrespects IP
And all the devs giving up on their apps so they can vibe code agents to scam people on their behalfs. I no longer trust these clients or the protocol. Ive been here since mid 2024, and it feels no better. It feels worse.
Wait, you're an ancap that supports IP? How do you square that circle?
I don´t see the relationship between the protocol and IP
Yeah, I can see an argument that relay or client devs are providing good enough tools to filter out unwanted awful shit. Thats not really a protocol thing, but it is a big problem for the nostr ecosystem as a whole. I agree there, there needs to be better ways to make sure if someone hits global (which is insane to do) that they dont see that shit, really, its killed at the relay level before it ever does.
I just have never run into an ancap that liked IP. Most I've run into kind of follow Stephan Kinsella's arguments, so the AI IP thing didnt register for me
yep. Kinsella makes sense.
Yeah you see, its called consent.
If someone says I can't copy them, I can't in good conscience. If you do, you are stealing.
All my shit is MIT licensed.
Every ancap is okay with IP.
Stealing everyone's IP to release it for free is a violation of the NAP. You violate their consent.
The protocol is full of AI generated content, which is all plagiarized.
Even without IP law, I wouldnt respect scientists or writers who plagiarize. Why respect artists and coders who do it?
No, thats not even close to true and I'm not even an ancap. The idea that you think of something, put it in physical form in some manner, and that someone else can't copy that creation due to the NAP is not held by all ancaps. You sell me a book, who are you to tell me what I can and can't do with the pages once I have it?
Yeah thats cool and all, right now, in the world we live in, with a state. In ancap land, that means literally fucking nothing. You don't own it. IP is not like other property in ancapistan. Physical property you have a claim on, an idea you don't. Once its out of your head and into the world you can't own it in the same way. IP enforcement requires the state, which is fine, but you're an ancap...
