One time when I was first on Nostr, there was a lady who was asking for help feeding her family. She didn't have money for groceries and she lived somewhere where US dollars are worth much more. I knew she was legit cause I had seen her for a while and she would post regularly and had proof. Not thinking much of it, I zapped her 30k sats which was significantly less back then than it is now. I moved on and kept scrolling, but a few hours later I get a DM, it's this lady and she has sent me a video of all the food on the table that the sats I sent bought. She was so grateful and excited and I knew I had had a valuable impact on her life that week. It made me realize more than I ever have how important helping each other is because we have all been in similar situations once in our lives. Made me decide that I wanted to continue to do that and make people's life's a little better if I could. It also gave so much more to me to see the reaction and joy than anything that money could have bought me could.

And God bless people like you. All help involves gratitude and inner peace. 🤘It shows how even what feels like a small gesture to us can completely change someone else’s day or even their week. Helping each other out, especially when we’re in a position to, creates a ripple of gratitude and humanity that no amount of money spent on ourselves could ever replace. God bless u
You’re very cynical Dave. I’ve never asked for a single sat. Any zap I’ve received is because someone wanted to zap me. I’ve zapped over a million sats to people here and will continue to do so. I enjoy helping others here and in real life. I never charge for my massive experience in music, i share freely as I made my money and it’s time to give back. How about you ?

I gave a bunch of sats several times to a supposed little girl with leukemia until I found out it was a scam. It sucks that people will take advantage of other people’s generosity by manipulating their emotions. But God knows your heart. Even if we get scammed but we are giving with good intentions I believe God will look kindly upon us.
You failed the gullibility test and passed the more important kindness test. Don't feel bad for that. Everyone fails gullibility tests, that's how we learn - but I bet there are people who never pass kindness tests
