Yet here I am. Just a tech normie and nostr is my only social media.
Building on flawed foundations won't attract the right crowd, just like a diet based on grains won't attract optimal health.
It is a p2p website platform, no need for servers for hosting has each and every visitor helps seeding the website contents. Cool stuff, but the original programmer disappeared and the project became kind of a zombie I believe we have the technology to rebuild it with nostr, fips, blackjack and hookers though.

No, it is not a lie. The problem here is that nostr people haven't built enough. There are a lot of problems with Nostr adoption that could be fixed at the client level that Nostr hipsters refuse to add out of a vague feeling of superiority/"purism". The fact that Nostr events are permanent and "can't really be deleted", or the fact that you "can't really delete your own account", or you can't even edit your posts or undo an accidental like, are many legitimate reasons why normie adoption of Nostr hasn't caught on yet. Instead of understanding these issues and making client-side features that allow Nostr use to be very similar to legacy social media, while still preserving the base protocol, Nostr hipsters just expect the adoption of their favorite protocol to suddenly take off through all their clients as is, or worse, they are perfectly fine with this corner of the internet being a forever ghost town while Big Tech and Big Media stay powerful over human opinion. 🀑

Don't stop building, then. Continue to get wealthier as the world only continues to improve.

Enjoy the hipster moment of being early and complain more publicly. Uh, I’m so early, it hurts. You don’t know this group of relays called NOSTR but …
