Primal has an integrated Strike-based KYC Bitcoin wallet. Not making any value judgements – I see the use case. Do you know whether they connect your npub to your KYC data? Has anyone looked at the code? Even if I was ok with KYC'ing with Strike, I would never connect the KYC data to my npub. Would you?

I would guess that in principle, it should be possible to build it so that they don't know which Strike user has which npub. Are they doing that? Or is there a database with npubs and identities somewhere? Would be great to know what we're dealing with @primal.

Never 💀💀💀💀💀💩💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 (seeing the use case)
It’s likely they connect them even if by accident. For regulatory reasons they will at the very least be storing logs for a few years. Samurai leaked Xpubs despite explicitly being a privacy tool.

Primal is more like V4Vcs than V4V
Never.. never.. never.. ppl need to stop receiving zaps to strike app period there are other private ways. I dont understand why ppl would do tgat
Primal Wallet KYC info is connected to the npub. We don’t share this info, per our privacy policy, but the connection exists. Users who want to ensure that their privacy is preserved should not use KYC-based wallets. Within Primal, you can do so by using NWC to connect to your Mutiny Wallet. This is only available on Primal for Android atm.
is there any reason why you don't allow the user to choose to use a different wallet without NWC? so when you zap it just deep links into another wallet like most nostr clients do. the main reason i don't use the Primal mobile app is because this option is missing.
No reason other than not wanting to implement and maintain additional wallet connection logic. NWC seems like a good standard; I am sure more wallets will support it over time.
I dont care about ensuring my privacy, heres my birth certificate, home address, and my pin number, come over sometime
deep linking is simpler than NWC though. only maintenance required is adding new wallets, but that doesn't happen often. i don't think any wallets would change their deep link cause that would break things for everyone. you can just copy pasta this if you're using swift for iOS.
There are a lot of hoops we need to jump through to make nostr accessible to the masses, especially if we want to include zapping. Not fun, but it has to be done imho, if we want to have a chance to grow nostr.
Primal is known as an easy onboarding experience for nostr. To have default KYC info collection that “isn’t shared” and *can* be bypassed, but only for one wallet option and only android, is pretty fucked up

If an iOS user changes their wallet on primal .net, will it change in iOS?
Before you know it, primal requires shotgun KYC to zap and withdrawal US government requires primal to disclose all customer information connected to NPUBs for "tax purposes"
Not sure what you mean by "changes their wallet on primal .net". We don't offer Primal Wallet through a web interface yet. Do you mean change the browser extension you are using with the web app? That shouldn't affect anything on iOS.
Once the connection is made and then replaced by using NWC...is there still a history of the connection?
