Hooking up a self-custody wallet to zap with is the bane of my life..the way things work, everyday finance people will never use this cumbersome tech..only we do bc were super intrested..let's build this out!

You can already do this with ZEUS.
Even with the embedded wallet, you’re free to open up your own channels.
But 500 sats for a 50,000 payment..cmon..i should never incure a fee like that using Olympus or Megalith
That’s pretty standard for an on-chain transaction.
Plus you only have to pay that when opening or closing the chan.
bro what are u on about. u can already do this easily with those apps. i use zeus connected to my umbrel node and it’s easy and works nicely
The fees man, lightning is supposed to be a fraction of a penny...Zeus keeps forcing me to open a channel with Olympus or megalith..they charge too much to route your payments. I have liquidiy.. 25$ in/ out..but I can't redeem 163 sats. Bc zeuse says I don't have enough
No one is forcing you to do anything.
If you’re having problems redeeming ZEUS Pay payments make sure you have at least 1% of inbound preserved.
You can probably resolve this by sending some of your Lightning funds out to another wallet before redeeming.
In v0.11 you’ll be able to switch to a Cashu based Lightning address that doesn’t have liquidity constraints.
I still use Zeus and for the most part I love it..how do I connect it to amethyst though?
Put the Lightning address in your profile. One tap zaps are not supported w the embedded node
