Everyone is getting richer, it’s just the rich are getting richer at an extremely accelerated rate while the poor are getting richer at a rate that isn’t as fast. In theory, a poor person today is better off than they were even 20 years ago. However, the problem is things like zoning laws, medical regulation, government loans for college, etc. make goods, and services more expensive over time.

what theory exactly says that poor people are better today? not arguing just trying to define the perspective

I used to agree with them but when life expectancy started to decline it kinda invalidated that thesis. 100 years? Definitely better. The 90s? I'm not so sure.
