Nice 🤜🤛 is Sorpresa a local grape?
Sorpresa is surprise in Italian. It’s our red blend. The 2022 vintage carries 50% Marechal Foch, 25% Cab Franc and 25% Merlot barrel aged for only 7 months.
That’s fun. I’m not familiar with Marechal Foch. Hybrid? Vinifera?
Yup it’s a hybrid. One of the only red grapes where the grape juice is actually red. Super deep red inky colour and no tannins. So we add tannins to it prior to ferment.
