I’ve seen this a few times. We need to educate the newcomers that Nostr is not just Primal, there are a lot of clients and they can take their key and use it in any of them, or even use multiple clients at the same time.

Just tell the person this directly. Don't pussy foot around on this. If people had not taken the time to correct me I would have been even stupider than I am now. Once a friend in Community College said, OG, when you talk you say, "you know" way too much. I listened and he explained to me that people don't know, they need clear descriptions of the concepts that I'm trying to communicate. Many examples of people correcting me and I am grateful. If the person can't handle this then that person has been set up for failure. As my Drill Sergeant used to say, A Bravo Foxtrot will set you up for failure. Don't be a Bravo Foxtrot. Which means, Buddy Fucker. When someone does or says something wrong correct it. I'll even go up to strangers and fix their shirts, ties and if it's a women whose out of order I will politely say tell her away from other people. That's the key. We need to extend the hand of grace to all of those we encounter.

see, that's the thing tho, apps that get that will probably end up being leaned on by legislators and police and whatnot for whatever reason, and those seeking freedom will be rugged yet again this is why nostr needs to be to its clients as for example bittorrent is to its clients... irrelevant... if not interoperable, not nostr

For normies I think social media will be divided into two parts: one where you can access one ID from all the apps (nostr) and one where you need different IDs for different apps (Insta, X etc). Then there will be a huge number of new generation people coming to the all in one side of social mediaanda still a lot of people will be stucked with their fan following of the old platforms.

Yeah, unfortunately that's part of it, and you can see that from some of the tiktok crowd, they don't realize it's an ecosystem yet. We think The Damus, Amethyst, Primal paradigm might be the norm, people will think they're all seperate ecosystems. We think this might be true with Mastodon too potentially as people will say join x instance, instead of join Mastodon.

You don't need to drop your Lightning address to your profile. Just add your wallet to the Nostr client/app you're using, and that will make your lightning address show up on your profile and people will be able to Zap you. And you don't need to use Primal wallet if you don't want. If it suits you, then go for it. Otherwise, you have other options, e.g. Coinos, Wallet of Satoshi, etc. You can add and use them on Primal, too.

I severely dislike the moniker 'nostrich', you know.
