Agree. The Primal Tending feed could be vastly improved to be more useful for users.
For example: my GM PV note every morning should not trend. It's not that special, but it tends every day.
DVM feeds / Feed marketplaces at least give users a wide variety of feeds to choose from. This is the way forward, IMO. More work needs done here to surface these feeds and their content.

Maybe notes with GM / Good morning should be weighted less?
that's a silly arbitrary rule. a simple rule that fixes this is to weight influencers far less than they are now, but there is no incentive for the good folks at primal to do that

GM is important culture. its helping us test the network in a fun way. its like a ping. Odells network appears to be working amazingly well, and so do my GMs.. its more fun than "test" although those also get a decent response ratio too 😁

A Trending within your network is probably best, but this becomes moot when you're brand new and do not have a network graph yet.
new users would have to be bootstrapped with some existing lists. they can then choose labels for what they want to see more or less of
