Enjoyed... nice to know we have some of the same fears! Get those mentioned methods implemented before it's too late! My greatest fear is nobody I know cares enough to learn how to recover mine after I die. I have tried explaining to everyone how everything works... goes in one ear and out the other(even my wife) Kind of hope
@HRF or some other foundations come up with some kind of plan to allow you to setup a way to just give it all to them.... really don't trust custodians though, so doubt that will work either..... Also, fountain is cool and all, but to boost you through there, you have to use their wallet, which is lame, especially since it has nostr integration...

I actually had good luck with family so far, after a while they come on their own to ask more. Everyone has their timing.
Yes fountain is very restrictive, they don't even offer NWC to connect their wallet to another Nostr app to make payments with it, so you do need a second wallet anyway. I actually start using podcast guru more lately since it's a better podcast app but it's missing the Nostr integration. Now that we will post the episodes directly on Nostr hopefully we get more interactions with everyone and we can even reply on the boosts π«β‘

Was a great listen! Relatable to me, firstly with Kenshin on Python, I also started delving more into Python, part of my new years resolution, was using YouTube, will try AI. On McIntosh, I am also on the verge of setting up my lightning nodes.
My pleb takeaways:
Was an awesome dive into the banning of Bitcoin mining and especially the study cases on some countries.
Touched on scammers, not talked about enough, many have been scammed into shitcoins or pyramid schemes under the guise of Bitcoin, which makes adoption way much harder for some who have already been conned.
Was nice that you delved into the importance of keys, especially on multi-sig and metal plates. (NOT YOUR KEYS NOT YOUR COINS!)
Awesome mention on quantam computing,I also grapple with this one, soon enough AI and computing power will bring the need for more security.

Definitely try AI for python, so easy! Especially if you know some fundamentals you can understand the code since the AI will even add comments to explain what it's doing. I have learnt more from this process than trying any book, videos or apps that I have gone through in the past.
Yes there are a lot of scams around but I think I got immune throughout the years since the days of the basic email inheritance scams. The moment someone says to help recover lost coins or help with trading advice then it's easy to block them. Sometimes I go along for a while just to waste their time π
But in general if anyone asks for your seed phrase then avoid them 100& of the time.

Finally had a chance to have q listen to the show and the different fears related to #bitcoin .
At the invitation of having plebs share some fears, a few that werenβt mentioned and that have gotten into my radar recently are:
- ossification : listening to a few
@Jameson Lopp interviews has made me wary of what it means to only focus development on other layers and not on the base chain, and what it would mean if little by little we have few and few maintainer developers to make sure that the chain which may hold more than trillions in value starts to lose devs and people who can maintain the decentralized ethos and priorities in the code.
- base layer being self reliant: for the moment miners can rely on the block subsidy. But seeing how in these usd spike moments, transaction fees remain lowβ¦ if development on second and third layer remain the way to make transacting on bitcoin cheaper, then I wonder how the incentive model will make sense for miners after no more block rewards (long timeframe, but still a fear π
for the legacy)
- self-custody blacklisting: the more paper bitcoin goes into circulation, and the more institutions want to hold bitcoin for you, I worry for self-custodial criminalization (make people have to choose to behave outside of the law) and the fact that may result in less and less ways to transact with your self-custodied stack.
Anyway, just some thoughts that sparked off listening to your pod :)

Those are great comments! Never heard of ossification before, very interesting. Now with some ETF players giving back to developers from their profits hopefully will keep them going for longer!
We talk a bit in the upcoming episode about the future of block rewards and transaction fees. I think that will solve itself with time and with the increased value of bitcoin.
Very good point about stuff custody, I have that fear too actually. Hopefully we can vote with our feet if that comes to the country we live in. But yeah that's a big one and Europe was in talks about somehow making self custody illegal. I hope it doesn't happen...
