True story:
I once played basketball with a learning-disabled teen who literally could not tell the difference between left and right, which was a problem for executing our plays.
I did not make fun of him, but tried to help.
I said to hold out his hands and see which one formed an "L" with his thumb. That's the Left hand. He was happy.
But the very next time he tried it on our end of the court, he held out his hands palms-up! 😆

My wife has two masters degrees and struggles with right and left. She has to check which one makes the L.
Our brains can be funny.
It's so weird for real.
When my sister was little, she consistently put her shoes on backwards, even though we showed her how to put them the right way on the floor. Finally someone watched... She carefully placed them correctly, then crossed her legs and put them on!
