Taking a moment to be grateful before meals has been one of the more important daily practices I do. It shifts me out of autopilot, turns eating into a ritual, and reminds me of the blessing it is to have food in front of me. Pause before your next meal. Take one deep breath, and name five things you’re grateful for. Chew your food a little slower and longer and see if you notice a difference.

Nice! A Thai guy once explained to me the concept of "Thai hot" in the context of food. This guy explained to me that the heat makes you slow down while eating. I got the feeling there's also something about balancing the pleasure of the food with some pain from the chili.
Love it. Guy sounds like a wizard. I find spicy food to be great when I’m in a bit of a funk as well. Helps shake me up a bit and get a mental reset.
