funny you should mention ham radios. i keep get advertised these things. i must be in their marketing demo. i do need to do the key thing. it's much more useful than worrying about banks closing and atm networks not working... i'm not really a doomsday prepper, more like a bankers holiday shutdown prepper. I'm pretty sure it's silly to worry about that though, because they will just print/loan money to make sure the system keeps liquid and the public will find out later via inflation. that was the point of a podcast i heard recently: 2008 response took 8 months, covid took 2 days. last bank failures response took overnight. so they won't let it fail when they don't have to. thanks for the ham radio suggestion, i'm going to look into it.

I too believe any bank crisis will be met quickly. What will fail isn't the network, but rather, the value of the currency. The Fed seems to have realized that continuity is far more important than stable value, at least when it comes to maintaining maximum employment.
