funny you should mention ham radios. i keep get advertised these things. i must be in their marketing demo.
i do need to do the key thing. it's much more useful than worrying about banks closing and atm networks not working...
i'm not really a doomsday prepper, more like a bankers holiday shutdown prepper. I'm pretty sure it's silly to worry about that though, because they will just print/loan money to make sure the system keeps liquid and the public will find out later via inflation.
that was the point of a podcast i heard recently: 2008 response took 8 months, covid took 2 days. last bank failures response took overnight.
so they won't let it fail when they don't have to.
