Centralised platforms are zero-sum on a long enough timeline. You just need to wait for repercussions of poor decisions. This will trigger a mass exodus of bitcoin projects from github. image

I hate the "refer to our ToS" when you ask why. got banned driving for Uber years ago due a complaint but they wouldn't tell me what the complaint was, let alone which passenger complained, so I couldn't even make an argument in my defence. They just kept sending me the ToS saying I'd breach part of it. after a week of back and forth I got sick of it and sent them an email complaining it was all a racist plot to get rid of white drivers and only allow Indians, and I'd been talking to other drivers in yhe same position and we'd be going to media. within 5mins "on review of your case we've decided only a warning is appropriate and your account is reactivated" 🀣🀣 the race card even works for us white guys!

Move to Codeberg! GitHub and GitLab are more like commercial and "gorverment" loyals. The Bitcoin Community should have done the move 5 years ago. I talked about it back in 2021..
Decentralized repos like GitLab or self-hosted Git ensure project continuity, mitigating risks of centralized platform lockout.

I eagerly await the day I can be done with Github, now owned by Microsoft πŸ˜€
Yeah, if they decide to use a centralized platform at the very least choose one that's freedom-friendly. I use Codeberg and I like it a lot.
GIT is inherently distributed, move β€œorigin” from GH to your own https website, somewhere you can publish a dir of files βœ… Publish binaries and tarballs here on #NOSTR and #Blossom ?? β€œGit on NOSTR” could be an npub client sitting in front of your storage, responding to API requests via DM, behind a firewall etc all signed. image
git is only one part of the picture. still need issues, ci. all of this can be done better on nostr anyways
