Good morning ☀️
It's a tale as old as the 1980s, when the client-server model was invented.
If you include dumb terminals and mainframes, you can go back to the late 60’s early 70’s
It’s a very tech-heavy term that means something very different to most people. A “client” for most people is a customer. An “app” is what we should be calling it if we want to decrease friction for new users.
That would be dumb terminals and mainframes. C'mon Mike. 😩
Yeh, that’s a client and a server.
We move in cycles between centralised and decentralised computing every 10 - 15 years.
Absolutely, which is why I more often than not say app because people outside of tech circles don't understand the terminology. I also mention that we shouldn't say relays either. People understand network and server. Relay is a bad and confusing name.
💯
You start to understand it after you have been immersed in it for awhile. But in beginning, I was so freaking confused.
I've been telling people client -> Nostr is like web browser -> internet. Seems to work.
😂🤣
ITS FUNNY BC ITS TRUE 😂😂😂

APPS IS STRICTLY A MORE RELATABLE TERM FOR MOST PEOPLE.
