I've noticed the YouTube algo has been a bit better as of late ( for me at least). I think it's learnt that there is a market for people who are more likely to click the nonYOUTUBER thumbnail.
One example is this public access show that also goes live on YouTube. It's been doing one show a day for years and years, gets a small amount of views. But is exactly the sort of curious channel I would click on.
(I've since tried to convince them on email to join nostr and stream here too lol)

People might want to try the DeArrow add-on. It crowd sources saner headlines, and optionally removes click baity thumbnails. I've been using it for a while now, find my YouTube experience is much improved, now I mostly click on things I want to watch!
