I’m so happy that Nostr exist so I have some kind of social media that isn’t a completely unhinged brainwashing clickbait experience. Everyday the experience on the other apps gets more and more extreme, deranged, and frankly scary.

Been on the psychogram and xitter for a couple weeks now it feels much better.
Twitter is not real life. It's just the extremes created by people trapped in the ugly incentives. I don't know how people can use it. Maybe I just didn't curate my feed well enough?
Every Sunday, I log into my business' social media accounts that my business partner runs. I look through all of our posts, so that I can write our weekly newsletter. I always scroll through for about 5 min, to get a vibe on what's happening. Personally being Nostr only is really eye opening, as to what these centralised corporate media platforms are like.

Yes... one of the main reasons nostr is my go to app. The signal is strong.

It’s actually not as bad as before now
It's still early so the annoying video click-bait profiles don't know Nostr exists yet but they will eventually fine here. They need to add a system of requiring to pay 1 Satoshi to make a comment so they don't use auto bots to flood the comment section because they will eventually ruin Nostr. Nostr is still quite organic and that's what it's great.
I never felt like I could speak freely on other social media apps. I always was worried about being tracked or recorded. Even following people or liking posts worried me. With Nostr I don't feel that. I'm excited to be able to more fully communicate and share ideas with people, and not just be a silent background lurker.
Hi erik 😉🤟🏴‍☠️ happy sunday🤝 Nostr is proof that social media doesn’t have to be an engagement-maximizing, dopamine-draining echo chamber. No shadowbans, no manipulation just pure, unfiltered interaction. The more people realize what’s happening on traditional platforms, the more they’ll seek alternatives like this.
I agree with you. Something I was thinking about yesterday evening though. People on Nostr not pushing for clickbait but begging for sats? I’m still thinking. Thoughts?

That’s why I deleted all other social medias. Whenever I opened them up and scrolled I just felt bad after a while. Only place left is LinkedIn. It sucks but at least people there are less rude since they know that being rude can get you in trouble on a job market .

Couldn’t agree more. That being said, Nostr is serving a different purpose for me now - it’s like a blank canvas of what I want out of my digital social experience. What’s difficult right now is that many people I want to stay connected with aren’t here (friends/family/etc) and so I find myself still on the other social media apps trying to curate my experience as best as possible. Until we can push for wider adoption - which I understand won’t happen for awhile - I need to find a way to navigate other social media experiences that don’t impact me the way they are intending to.
Word. I have this with LinkedIn; stuck using it to keep up with fiat work. It's a waste of time and a drain on my mental energy.

I hear you. I’ve had to remove myself recently from Twatter. As a non US person I beaten over the head with everything US centric - my entire feed was inundated with US politics, economy, war etc. Like the rest of the planet’s global minions and their concerns didn’t exist. Your description of unhinged brainwashing etc is accurate And I got exhausted being subjected to it. Massive negative time suck. 😩
My experience in “X” is currently good. I leave it alone and it doesn’t affect my emotions as all
