Freedom of speech is an unalienable right. Unalienable rights are God given rights. The 1st amendment does not grant freedom of speech. Governments have no authority over unalienable rights. All the 1st Amendment does is tell the government that it shall not infringe on our unalienable right to freedom of speech.

While our Govt shall not impede what we say, our fellow neighbors can sue us for slander and libel. Speech isn’t always “free.”
