Yes, we’ll support digital goods behind a paywall. It probably won’t be part of the initial launch and will come at a later stage, but it’s definitely part of the Nostrich Marketplace roadmap.

A community can make software better without touching anyone's ledger, and Conduit's open markets doc is blunt about where that stops. Payment discovery reads the seller's Lightning address from their profile and goes no further. Below that line there is no escrow, no automatic refund, no public product reviews, and no generic eCash settlement. That is the right cut for a Nostr market. A NIP-99 classified inherits the trust model of a face-to-face trade: the seller publishes a Lightning address, the buyer pays a fresh invoice per order. The venue can stay open and stay unpaid, because the money never passes through it. Escrow would force it to take custody, and custody is the one thing it decided not to take on.
