Did your corn do well? I've had no luck with corn.

So awesome! We got snow on Monday. I have never in my life felt a stronger urge to move south than I have these last two years. If only to be outside with my toes in the dirt.

Yeah, I grew up and raised my kids(and gardened) in Michigan... cold, cloudy, very short growing season. I love the 4-season growing here in Florida, but there's a lot more pests and diseases with no freeze to kill them off every winter... and then there's fire ants...🔥 🐜 gotta watch for them when you put your toes in the dirt!😬 Every place has its issues I guess. Yes, the corn did good. The cooler weather resulted in shorter ears and less pollination though. Maybe the short daylight hours too. We'll not grow it through the winter again. I'll try a fall crop earlier in the season, or just grow in the spring. Traditional harvest time is May here. I was pushing the seasons as an experiment 😁 We put about 40 cups of corn in the freezer and ate about 3 weeks fresh.🌽 Are you zone 9 too?

Yes, we recently got labeled as zone 9, from 8b before. Our summer droughts and high temps makes it hard to grow anything in the summer.

Oh, I can imagine how tough that is. I got relabled from 9a to 9b. Everyone's getting warmer. I am trying to raise crops that tolerate this new hotter climate. Might come in handy if times get tough.
