It blows my mind how many people fall for the same sob story scammer again and again on Nostr. Sometimes it's only a month between notes with the *exact* same story. And he's been doing it for years now.

Pretty sure I zapped a nickel. Seems more humiliating than not zapping come to think of it “here have a nickel, son” 😬. But I zap recklessly.
How2grift on Nostr 1 - Have a sob story (can't pay my bills, lost my job, etc) to elicit zaps. 2 - Later "give back" to the community you love so much with some generous contest with big zaps. 3 - Surprise, the winners are alts you control. 4 - Wait a month or two. 5 - Repeat, profit.
