When most people arrive in a new country, they learn a few words in the local language for the sake of propriety: "good morning", "thank you" etc.
I always learn this first: "Taxation is theft".
It always helps me make friends with the locals.

That's not even a question for me! 😉
I say straight away, looking you in the eye, "Taxation is theft. Don't even think about printing me a receipt, I'm paying with cash. If you print me a receipt, I won't be coming back."
My style of doing that works for me. Yes, it works *only* with small businesses. And I don't care about large chain merchants.
