Does anyone else get really annoyed when you're waiting for a car to turn so you can take a left and they stop and wave you ahead of them? Breaking the consensus on who has the right of way isn't polite, it's unsafe and wastes everyone's time while we all wait figure out wtf is going on. image

Mostly but once my pant leg got stuck in clutch pedal. Sorry. Safer to wave just then.
I call this a "nice off". Where two shmucks sit there grinning and waving until they both try to go and get in a wreck. Politeness gone wrong.
The “rules of the road” on the water are very clear which boat is the stand-on vessel and which is the give-way vessel. It’s every bit as important as the give-way vessel giving way as it is, the stand-on vessel stands on their course.

I've personally never been waved ahead across a 5 lane road... Can't even really see the driver well from that far. It's much more likely at a stop sign where we both wave each other at the same time and then both try to move at the same time
I'll take the curtesy and limp into "suicide lane." I don't have time for stupid people (polite or otherwise).
